BENEDICTION To Release 'Hell's Gate' Limited-Edition Seven-Inch Single
December 31, 2008Long-running Birmingham, U.K.-based extreme metallers BENEDICTION have issued the following update:
"We are going to be releasing a very limited seven-inch vinyl single for a friend on his small independent label. If any of you budding artists fancy a go at designing a cover for this, then feel free to have a go and submit your art to us via MySpace and we'll take it from there. White on black or black on white only please (just like those old DIY singles you used to get in the '80s). The track is called 'Hell's Gate'. You can take the title literally or if you have any other ideas for artwork then feel free to go for it. It does not literally have to be pencil/brush to paper/canvas, art is art be it collage, printing, photos, modelling, fucking anything!"
In other news, BENEDICTION is finalizing the second part of the No Reunion Required tour for the first part of 2009. The band says, "If you live in the following countries — Venezuela, Chile, Argentina, Brasil, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia, Russia, Ukraine, Japan and even good old England — then keep an eye out over the next few weeks and find out where you can come and help us celebrate our 20th-anniversary shows. It's time to start kicking shit again boys and girls. More countries and venues to be added."
Fan-filmed video footage of BENEDICTION performing the song "Burying The Hatchet" at this year's Damnation Festival on November 22 in Leeds, U.K. can be viewed below (clip uploaded by Dave Ingham a.k.a. YouTube user "triptykon").
